How militaristic will the environment be? Will we be seeing the children treated like the soldiers they are meant to portray? For all intents and purposes they are in boot camp for most of their adolescence.
“One of the things about powerful people is they have the ability to make it look easy. You could be on a guy’s yacht and having a great time and he’s partying, but then he goes down into the hull and he’s on a serious f — king phone call dealing with his whole life. The truth is, everybody I’ve ever met who’s successful is a workaholic. Their first relationship is with their money and their work. A lot of people think, Oh, once I do this, I can kick it. It never happens. Be ready to really, really work. The key is to not think there’s an easy way.”
Ice-T

culturerevo:

Lottery winners are considered lucky. Is luck chance? Because If luck is chance and defined by odds of winning a lotto. Than no one truly has a chance. You are more likely to be struck by lighting and die from a snake bite the same day then win the lotto. So fuck luck, success is judged by your ability to set progressive goals and meet them through hard work and opportunity. I am done with wishing for better or hoping for more. I need to meet success because I’ve never been lucky and I’ve wasted plenty of time.

Eric Thomas is his name, and if you can’t find his words...

Eric Thomas is his name, and if you can’t find his words inspirational. Then I believe you would benefit from watching the video twice. It is about how to be successful.

I came across a Malcolm X quote that a user posted on twitter...

I came across a Malcolm X quote that a user posted on twitter two days ago. “If you’re not careful, the media will have you hating the people who are oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” while reading that quote the image of Malcolm holding the newspaper reading “our freedom can’t wait!” on an old television popped in my head, and I preceded to put it on canvas 2 days later.

Exceprt from a great article on SB Nation about the 1993...

Exceprt from a great article on SB Nation about the 1993 SuperSonics, I was a huge Shawn Kemp fan. My mom wouldn’t buy me Jordan’s, but she bought me Kemp’s. Go figure, kids and their idols.

6:00: We cut to the following Nike commercial:

“It wasn’t easy growing up. I wanted to be the next Michael Jordan. And the next Oscar Robertson. And the next Jerry West. And the next Iceman. But I couldn’t make up my mind which “next” I wanted to be. So I became the first Harold Miner. As you can see, that’s not too easy either.”

The joke writes itself. Miner (pun intended) detail: Harold was born in 1971, well after Robertson and West’s primes. Hard to believe he truly grew up wanting to be them. Also, Miner averaged 10 points in 18.9 minutes per game for a losing team in 1992-93. This would be like giving Jordan Crawford a Nike commercial.

Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
