My favorite piece of street art in Lubbock by artist unknown. I respect the work and the location because it is a 4 foot paste a block away from the police station and has only recently started to come down do to weathering. I don’t think many people have seen it, because it is not a piece you would likely just come across.

What is the definition of success, because it’s not luck. Lottery winners are considered lucky. Is luck chance? Because If luck is chance and defined by odds of winning a lotto. Than no one truly has a chance. You are more likely to be struck by lighting and die from a snake bite the same day then win the lotto. So fuck luck, success is judged by your ability to set progressive goals and meet them through hard work and opportunity. I am done with wishing for better or hoping for more. I need to meet success because I’ve never been lucky and I’ve wasted plenty of time.

I came across a Malcolm X quote that a user posted on twitter two days ago. “If you’re not careful, the media will have you hating the people who are oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” while reading that quote the image of Malcolm holding the newspaper reading “our freedom can’t wait!” on an old television popped in my head, and I preceded to put it on canvas 2 days later.

The joke writes itself. Miner (pun intended) detail: Harold was born in 1971, well after Robertson and West’s primes. Hard to believe he truly grew up wanting to be them. Also, Miner averaged 10 points in 18.9 minutes per game for a losing team in 1992-93. This would be like giving Jordan Crawford a Nike commercial.

I have been jamming this song for 2 weeks now & i haven’t been excited about an album since Big Boi’s Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty last summer. But that was an album from an artist most people knew, but they didn’t know the album was coming out. STS is a different monster, pimp, spoken word performer, ~~rapper~~, one of the best artist in the last 10 years.

Watched the movie “PoolHall Junkies” a few days ago on netflix and it was 4 star worthy. One of my favorite parts of the move is the monologue Christopher Walken has with the character he just bet $80,000 on. The video found just goes so well with the inspirational speech I simply overlay-ed it.

I really really like what they did with this monologue. It adds so much more intensity to it. If you haven’t seen Pool Hall Junkies you are missing out.
